The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:
FRANCIS SPINELLI JR., 58, of 248 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, was charged July 30 with possession of controlled substance, use and possession of drug paraphernalia, non-student in possession of drugs near a school, and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on July 30 at approximately 3:45 p.m. Spinelli was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a disturbance that occurred on July 19, 2014 at the Naugatuck Motor Lodge. Spinelli was on the balcony yelling and banging on a wall, police reported. Officers found 4.5 grams of heroin, 1.9 grams of crack cocaine, smoking pipes and syringes in Spinelli’s possession, police reported. Spinelli was given a court date of Aug. 6 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
VASILE CIOANA, 37, of 108 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck, was charged July 30 with breach of peace.
Police reported on July 30 at approximately 9:39 p.m. officers responded to 108 Fairview Ave. for a domestic disturbance between former boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Cioana struck the victim. Cioana was given a court date of July 31 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $5,000 non-surety bond.
ROBERT NEWMAN, 27, of 139 Lewis St., Naugatuck, was charged July 31 with disorderly conduct.
Police reported on July 31 at approximately 10:30 a.m. officers responded to 139 Lewis St. #22 for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. During an argument, police reported, Newman damaged a bed and ceiling fan. Newman was given a court date of Aug. 1 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 surety bond.
ALONZIA MARINE, 19, of 77 Cherry St., Naugatuck, was charged July 31 with violation of protective order.
Police reported on July 31 at approximately 7:16 p.m. officers responded to 77 Cherry St. for a violation of a protective order. Police reported Marine entered the home of the protected party, which was found to be in violation of a protective order. Marine was given a court date of Aug. 1 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
NICOLE REILLY, 26, of 106 Tawny Thrush Road, Naugatuck, was charged July 31 with disorderly conduct.
Police reported on July 31 at approximately 9:07 p.m. officers responded to 106 Tawny Thrush Road for a domestic disturbance between mother and daughter. During an argument, police reported, Reilly punched walls and pushed the victim. Reilly was given a court date of Aug. 1 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.
JASON TAYLOR, 31, of 90 Thistle Down Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 1 with four counts if sixth-degree larceny, four counts of illegal use of credit card, and four counts of fraudulent use of automated teller machine.
Police reported on Aug. 1 at approximately 7:50 a.m. Taylor turned himself in on active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny complaint made on June 9, 2014. Police reported Taylor stole the victim’s debit card and made four withdrawals totaling $460 from her account. Taylor was given a court date of Aug. 1 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $500 court-set cash bond.
AMER YOUSEF, 35, of 505 Spring St., Naugatuck, was charged Aug. 1 with threatening and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Aug. 1 at approximately 12:28 p.m. officers responded to 505 Spring Street Apt. A for a domestic disturbance between brothers. During an argument, police reported, Yousef threatened to harm his brother. Yousef was given a court date of Aug. 4 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a promise to appear.
PAULO SIMOES, 32, of 355 Pearl Lake Road, Waterbury, was charged Aug. 2 with driving under the influence, reckless driving, traveling unreasonably fast, improper passing, failure to drive at reasonable distance, failure to obey control signal, failure to drive right, and failure to grant right-of-way.
Police reported on Aug. 2 at approximately 11:41 p.m. officers responded to the area of New Haven Road for an erratic driver. Police reported Simoes passed vehicles in a no-passing area. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Simoes was operating under the influence of alcohol. Simoes was given a court date of Aug. 14 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 cash bond.
