The Naugatuck Police Department reported the following arrests:

JOYCE CALIGAN, 55, of 245 Cherry Ave., Watertown, was charged Sept 22 with illegal sale of controlled substance by non-drug-dependent person.

Police reported on Sept. 22 Caligan was arrested on an active arrest warrant while she was at court. The warrant was for a narcotics investigation conducted during the month of April 2014. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Caligan was selling prescription medication. Caligan was given a court date of Sept. 22 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held for arraignment.

WILLIAM SCHUESCHNER, of last known address 33 Laurel Drive, Brookfield, was charged Sept. 22 with sixth-degree larceny.

Police reported on Sept. 22 at approximately 5:30 p.m. Schueschner was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a larceny reported on June 30, 2014 at Walmart. Police reported Schueschner stole a razor kit worth $44.51. Schueschner was given a court date of Oct. 1 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 non-surety bond.

SHAWN LAGRAVE, 54, of 976 New Haven Road, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 22 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Sept. 22 at approximately 12:33 a.m. officers responded to 796 New Haven Road for a domestic disturbance. During the argument, police reported, Lagrave was struck and then threw a cast iron skillet. LaGrave was given a court date of Sept. 22 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court.

VIVIAN ANDRADE, 30, of 60 Blackman Road, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 22 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 22 Andrade turned herself in on active arrest warrants. Andrade was given a court date of Sept. 22 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a cash bond.

JAMES HUNTER, 29, of 49 Plaza Ave. 2, Waterbury, was charged Sept. 22 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 22 at approximately 7:09 a.m. Hunter turned himself in on active arrest warrants. Hunter was given a court date of Sept. 22 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a court-set cash bond.

JUSTIN DYER, 29, of 117 Curtiss St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 23 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Sept. 23 at approximately 12:44 Dyer was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Dyer was given a court date of Sept. 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $25,000 surety bond.

KEVIN NEWMAN, 36, of 17 Carroll St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 23 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 23 Newman was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Newman was given a court date of Sept. 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a $10,000 surety bond.

NOAH TARIFI, 35, of 602 East Slope Drive, Orange, was charged Sept. 23 with sixth-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trespass.

Police reported on Sept. 23 Tarifi was arrested on an active arrest warrant while he was at court. The warrant was for a larceny reported on May 6, 2014 at Walmart. Police reported Tarifi brought a receipt into the store, found matching items on the shelf and returned the items for money. Tarifi was given a court date of Sept. 22 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held for arraignment.

DAVID HALL, 23, of 13 West Porter St., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 23 with violation of restraining order.

Police reported on Sept. 23 Hall was arrested while he attended court on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a violation of a protective order reported on June 26, 2014. Police reported Hall was found to have a Facebook account which violated a protective order stating his personal electronic social media sights shall be closed. Hall was given a court date of Sept. 23 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held for arraignment.

DAVID LOUSTAUNAU, 40, of 28 Edgerton Road, Wallingford, was charged Sept. 25 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at approximately 8:12 p.m. Loustaunau turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for a violation of a protective order reported on July 28, 2014. Police reported Loustaunau used a third party to make contact with the order’s protected parties, which was determined to be in violation of an active protective order. Loustaunau was given a court date of Sept. 26 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $1,000 surety bond.

JILL GROVES, 54, of 22 Silver Beech Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 25 with possession of controlled substance: narcotics, use of drug paraphernalia, operation of motor vehicle when registration or license is refused, suspended or revoked and failure to display plates or inserts.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at approximately 9:02 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Prospect Street. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Groves was wanted on an active arrest warrant. Also Groves was found to be in possession of smoking pipes used for crack cocaine, police reported. Groves was also wanted on an active arrest warrant, police reported. Groves was given a court date of Oct. 1, 2014 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court. She was released on a $500 surety bond for the possession charge and for the motor vehicle charge and a court-set $5,000 surety bond for the warrant arrest.

OSVALDO RODRIGUEZ-FIGUEROA, 21, of 39 Washington St., Waterbury, was charged Sept. 25 with violation of protective order.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at approximately 5:09 p.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on Old Waterbury Turnpike. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Rodriguez-Figueroa was in violation of a no-contact protective order with the passenger of the vehicle. Rodriguez-Figueroa was given a court date of Sept. 26 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $2,500 surety bond.

JEFFREY LYDEN, 25, of 193 Bluebird Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 25 with second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at approximately 5:21 p.m. Lyden was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Lyden was given a court date of Oct. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $150 cash bond.

JASON TAYLOR, 31, of 90 Thistle Down Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 25 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at approximately 8:15 p.m. Taylor was arrested on two active arrest warrants. Taylor was given a court date of Oct. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $150 cash bond.

JACOB SPERLING, 20, of 14 Chamberlin Road, Seymour, was charged Sept. 25 with violation of probation.

Police reported on Sept. 25 at approximately 8:15 p.m. Sperling turned himself in on an active arrest warrant. Sperling was given a court date of Oct. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a court-set $2,500 surety bond.

MICHAEL SPARANO, 30, of 550 Oak Ave., Cheshire, was charged Sept. 26 with driving under the influence and traveling at an unreasonable speed.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at approximately 12 a.m. an officer conducted a motor vehicle investigation on New Haven Road. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined Sparano was operating under the influence of alcohol. Sparano was given a court date of Oct. 9 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

PATTY MESAROS, 52, of 22 Wilson St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 26 with disorderly conduct.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at approximately 5:43 p.m. Mesaros was arrested on an active arrest warrant. The warrant was for an intimidation complaint made on June 25, 2014. Police reported Mesaros acted in an aggressive manner to the victim who is a coworker. Mesaros yelled and swore at the victim until a coworker had to escort Mesaros away, police reported. Mesaros was given a court date of Oct. 8 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and released on a $500 non-surety bond.

LAUREN KONTOUT, 33, of 38 Gorman St., Naugatuck, was charged Sept. 26 with tow counts each of obtaining drugs illegally and criminal attempt at illegal possession.

Police reported on Sept. 26 at approximately 5 a.m. Kontout turned herself in on two active arrest warrants. The warrants were for fraudulent prescriptions. Police reported Kontout called the Big Y pharmacy and the Stop and Shop pharmacy and ordered a prescription for Tramadol under a fictitious name. Kontout was given a court date of Sept. 26 to appear at Waterbury Superior Court and held on a total $1,000 surety bond.

DWIGHT BROWN, 43, of 75 Merigold Drive, New Britain, was charged Sept. 28 with first-degree assault, breach of peace and first-degree reckless endangerment.
