NEW HAVEN — A 27-year-old Naugatuck man was shot and killed in New Haven over the weekend, police said.
Police said officers responded to multiple 911 calls of gunfire and a gunshot victim on Elliot Street between Sylvan Avenue and Davenport Avenue at about 2:55 a.m. Saturday.
First responders found a man, later identified as Luis Nelson Perez of Naugatuck, lying in the street with a gunshot wound. Police said Perez was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting is under investigation. Police did not release further information.
