NAUGATUCK — David B. Monahan, 56, passed away peacefully, Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his home.
David was born Jan. 15, 1959 in Waterbury, a son of the late John F. and Margaret (Esperstedt) Monahan and had lived in Naugatuck most of his life. He loved fishing and gardening and formerly worked as a maintenance manager at Post University for over 20 years.
David is survived by his son, Michael Monahan and his wife, Melissa; his daughter, Amy Duque and her husband, Michael; his brother Robert Monahan and his wife, Linda; his brother, Bruce Monahan and his wife, Mary Jane; his sister, Nancy Goudreau and her husband, Don; his sister, Joan Honegger and her husband, Larry; his three grandchildren, Reilly and Michael Duque and William Monahan; his sister-in-law, JoEllen Monahan and several nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his brother, John Monahan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 170 Coen Street, Naugatuck. Burial will be on Friday, June 26, 2015 at 3 p.m. in Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours are Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave.
