FREDONIA, N.Y. — June M. Kelly, 69, of Fredonia, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk with her children by her side.
She was born in Dunkirk, N.Y. on Oct. 29, 1942, the daughter of the late Angelo and Fanna (Chase) Millonzi. June graduated from Fredonia High School in 1960. She worked for the Fredonia schools after graduation. Later, she and her husband George moved to Naugatuck, Conn., where she was employed as a typesetter for Sharp Office Services. After retiring, they moved back to the Western New York area. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, a church organist, active and former secretary for United Methodist Women (UMW). She participated in the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. June enjoyed gardening, sewing, arts and crafts, and music. She always had a smile on her face, and never had a bad word to say about anybody.
She leaves two sons, Kevin (Rebecca) Kelly of Yarmouth, Maine, Glenn Kelly of Naugatuck, Conn.; a daughter Kathleen (George Simmons) Kelly of Naugatuck, Conn.; her twin sister, Judith (John) Brillian of Fredonia; four grandchildren, Katelyn and Lauren Kelly, Heather and Taylor Sisk, and is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased in death by her husband, George F. Kelly.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Laona United Methodist Church, Porter and Wilson Road, Fredonia, NY.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Laona Methodist Church or the American Cancer Societies.
