NAUGATUCK — Mrs. Leona (Taylor) Wasdo, 90, formerly of Naugatuck, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, at Paradigm Health Care of Waterbury after a long illness. She was widow of Andrew Wasdo.
Mrs. Wasdo was born in Naugatuck on June 9, 1921, daughter of the late Wilfred and Adele (Noble) Taylor. She had lived most of her life in Naugatuck and she retired from the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. after 35 years of service. Leona enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards.
She leaves three daughters, Jean Wargo and Patricia Way, both of Woodbury, Regina
Davino of Waterbury; three sisters, Wilma Ruccio of Naugatuck, Dorothy Marcellus of
Middlebury and Mildred White of Naugatuck; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Wasdo was predeceased by a son, Robert Wasdo, five brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck.
