Naugatuck police recently filed the following charges:
Jose R. Maldonado, 30 Washington Place, Bridgeport, was charged Jan. 25 with first-degree larceny and first-degree criminal trover.
Police reported on Jan. 25 at approximately 6:50 a.m. the accused was arrested on an active arrest warrant. Police reported the warrant was issued due to the accused stealing a motor vehicle on or about February 2019. The accused was held on a $25,000 surety bond to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 25.
Andre Miguel Jones, 27, of 342 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, was charged Jan. 25 with possession of controlled substance or more than half ounce of cannabis, second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer/resisting.
Police reported on Jan. 25 at approximately 8:20 p.m. police were called to a residence for a juvenile physically assaulting a victim. Upon officer’s arrival, police reported, they were met by the accused who tried to prevent further access into the residence and was making a scene. Police reported the accused was uncooperative and began fighting with police. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 24.
Marquis Lamar Burns, 25, of 8 Arvida Lane, Wolcott, was charged Jan. 25 with second-degree breach of peace and interfering with an officer/resisting.
Police reported on Jan. 25 at approximately 8:20 p.m. police were called to a residence for a juvenile physically assaulting a victim. While officers were interviewing another individual, police reported, the accused exited a nearby vehicle and interrupted the interview. Police reported the accused was yelling at the officers, repeatedly took a fighting stance, and then banged on the window of a police car that contained another arrested person. Police reported the accused resisted an initial attempt to be arrested. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 24.
Yahaira A. Lluberes, 40, of 499 Scott Road Apt. 16, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 25 with two counts of violation of probation.
Police reported on Jan. 25 at 8:58 p.m. the accused was involved in a motor vehicle investigation. During the investigation, police reported, it was determined the accused had two violation of probation warrants stemming from an incident on July 30, 2020. The accused was held on a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 26.
Amber Rene Luna, 32, of 933 Rubber Ave. Apt. D, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 27 with risk of injury to child.
Police reported on Jan. 27 the accused was arrested by a hard copy warrant. Police reported the warrant was issued for an incident where the accused’s juvenile child ingested marijuana edibles. The accused was released on a $10,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on March 4.
Arthur Legere, 40, of 4400 Whitney Ave., Hamden, was charged Jan. 28 with two counts of second-degree failure to appear.
Police reported turned himself in on an active failure to appear PRAWN warrants. The accused was held on a court-set $25,000 cash or surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Jan. 28.
Angelique Meichsner, 31, of 270 Spring St. Apt. 4, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 29 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Jan. 29 at approximately 12:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to a reported physical domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police reported, it was found the accused was involved in a verbal argument that eventually turned physical when the accused struck the victim with a toilet paper holder. The accused was released on a $1,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 1.
Erica C. Flores, 32, of 20 Lawrence St. Apt. A1, Waterbury, was charged Jan. 29 with two counts of first-degree failure to appear, two counts of criminal impersonation, two counts of interfering with officer/resisting, second-degree forgery, fifth-degree larceny, first-degree criminal trespass, possession of controlled substance or more than a half ounce of cannabis, second-degree criminal trespass and sixth-degree larceny.
Police reported on Jan. 29 the accused was arrested on active arrest warrants. Police reported one warrant was from an incident where the accused attempted to shoplift $122.74 from Walmart. Police reported one warrant was from an incident where the accused attempted to shoplift $549.34 from Walmart and provided officers a false name and identity. Police reported when officers were serving a warrant, the accused provided a fake name and identity and illegal narcotics were also found on the accused. Police reported the accused was also arrested on an active failure to appear (PRAWN) arrest warrants. The accused was held on bonds totaling $50,000 and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 1.
Gregg Dojnia, 32, of 94 Irving St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 29 with violation of criminal protective order.
Police reported on Jan. 29 at 7:25 p.m. officers were dispatched to a domestic incident. Through officers’ investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused violated a protective order by going to the residence and having telephone contact with the protected person. The accused was released on a $1,500 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 1.
John Saffioti, 54, of 13 Surrey Drive, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 29 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Police reported on Jan. 29 officers responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident. Through their investigation, police reported, officers determined the accused was under the influence of alcohol while operating a motor vehicle. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 5.
Elzbieta Hulas, 56, of 1081 New Haven Road 6e, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 29 with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Jan. 29 at 11:27 a.m. officers were dispatched to a residence for a physical domestic altercation. Police reported it was determined through the investigation the accused assaulted a victim in bed while the victim was sleeping. The accused was released after posting a $10,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 1.
Leemarvin Benton, 29, of 87 Oak St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 29 with disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Jan. 29 at approximately 11:12 p.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the verbal domestic escalated when the accused became irate and destroyed property in the residence with the victim and a juvenile present. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 1.
Bruna Ferreira-Almeida, 30, of 82 Aetna St., Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 30 with risk of injury to child, third-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Police reported on Jan. 30 at approximately 10:58 a.m. officers responded to a residence on a report of a domestic dispute. Police reported it was discovered through the investigation that the accused became involved in an argument with the victim which turned physical when, according to the victim, the accused ripped the victim’s shirt and scratched their throat. The accused was released on a $5,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Feb. 1.
Brian Mestek, 43, of 25 Tanglewood Lane, Naugatuck, was charged Jan. 30 with illegal operation of motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Police reported on Jan. 30 at approximately 7:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of 727 Rubber Ave. for an erratic operator, who was suspected to be intoxicated. Through further investigation, police reported, officers located the accused in front of his residence. Police reported officers determined the accused to be operating under the influence. The accused was released on a $1,000 non-surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on March 4.
