PROSPECT — The Long River Middle School boys and girls cross country teams finished the regular season undefeated and both won the Junior NVL championships Oct. 26 at Tyrrell Middle School in Wolcott.
Kate Cicchetti won the girls NVL race. Colin Slavin, Chase Young, and Nick LaChapelle took first, second and third respectively in the boys race.
The teams then competed at the middle school cross country championships on Nov. 4.
The boys won the championship Chase Young (13th), Colin Slavin (17th), Nick LaChapelle (36th) and Liam Muricchio (40th) won medals for finishing the top 50.
Cicchetti finished second at middle school cross country championships, and the girls team finished 11th overall.
The team is coached by Deb Flaherty and Dean Accetura.
